There sure has been a plethora of summer blooms lately, so many gardeners have been busy planting and cultivating them to enjoy the burst of color in their yards. Today, we are treated with flowers from Dottie Abe’s flower garden in Calumet. I love the different color lilies she has, beautiful, deep colors. Also, her Hosta’s look so full and healthy. Even with the flowers not all out on the Hosta plants, they still add so much to the garden with their two colored leaves. They really make a good ground cover.

The flowers in today’s video are Wildflowers from the Keweenaw, filmed in 2017. The video description says they were abundant and beautiful. I have to agree!

They are beautiful!

Very nice. Who can name all the wildflowers in the video?

I never get to see the blossoms on my Hastas. The deer eat them before I get the chance. Thinking about setting up a security camera for next year.

I hear ya, D.A. . . . I've had success with that deer repellent spray from Ortho, I think it's called Deer-B-Gone. Have to reapply it following rain, but it seems to work pretty well. Yes, the buds and flowers on the hostas are like candy to those critters.

Uncle Chuck update:
Just heard from him this morning and it's "All systems go". He'll be heading home this afternoon, with his personal nurse, Vicki and he said if she won't let him have a pasty, there may be a scuffle! He says, "Preheat the oven". Ha, ha, ha...

Sense of humor in tact and working well! He'll be back here updating us himself, before you know it! Thank the good Lord!

Thanks Mary for the Uncle Chuck update! Sounds like he's gonna be fine and dandy in no time. Thank goodness for the medical miracles we have available to us nowadays.

D. A. (Midwested,)

These are what we had good success with. Of course you had to disarm the system if you were going to try to clean the vines out of the lilacs:
