We start out the week with an interesting photo of the Quincy Mine Shaft, snapped by Jeremy Rowe, from Keweenaw Night Sky. There were low lying clouds when he took this photo and with the lighting at the time, it created a shadow of the Mine Shaft on the clouds. It made for an eerie, ghost like scene, somewhat symbolic for that landmark, as someone commented on Jeremy’s photo, saying you can almost hear the miners of days gone by in the photo.
In the second photo, Jeremy used a glow stick and settings on his camera to capture this scene, with Keweenaw written across the photo using the light from the glow stick. Quite a unique shot! And before someone points it out, yes, this photo is actually the night sky in winter. We normally share photos current to the season, but when I came across this one, I thought it was worth sharing out of season. Besides, it might help to cool us down on the hot summer days.
The Quincy Mine Shaft being lit up at night is an awesome sight, and the subject of today’s video. The car lights going by in the beginning, though distracting, add a neat element to the spectacle.

Very cool pictures. I agree with Alex. They seem eerie, but I love them.
