Jean Dessellier and her hubby took a ride to get out of the house this weekend and practiced social distancing in the Misery Bay area. On their drive, they spotted this Shoe Tree on the Misery Bay Road, near the Ontonagon County line. I remember seeing it a number of years back and even posted a photo of it back on May 20 2015. If you click on the previous link, you’ll see that more shoes have sprouted in the past 5 years and some must have been picked, because the cowboy boots from 2015 are gone in Jean’s current shot.
I don’t know the origin of the Shoe Tree, but someone said that it is the 2nd shoe tree to have "blossomed" on the Misery Bay Road. It seems the previous tree died and was cut down about 8 yrs ago or more and the present tree sprouted after that. If any of our viewers know the story behind this unique tree, please share it with us.
Our video today is also from Jean, but one she filmed a little over a week ago, in the Lac La Belle area. The Haven Falls were running pretty well the day she was there, so make sure your speakers are turned up if you want to here the water rushing over the falls.

Haven Falls is another beautiful roadside park! Climbed those falls many times as a youngster. Great sounds of the water rushing in Spring time!

Great pix...love the video! Never been there, but
my first thought was Jacobs Falls.

There's also a shoe tree on US-131 between Kalkaska and
Mancelona, so there's one for each peninsula.
