Here in the Keweenaw, we had a doozy of a storm the day before Thanksgiving, but that didn’t stop George C. Bailey from going outdoors to capture the amazing height of the waves on the north shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula west of Copper Harbor, near Dan’s Point, over looking Lake Superior. George reported, “There were approximately 50 mph winds and 20 foot waves, with copious amounts of blinding snow.”
George’s photos are quite impressive, showing the height of the waves, but hold on, he not only snapped pictures, he also made a video to share. The sound of the wind and the waves is something else.
P.S. Remember that the 2020 Pasty Cam Calendars are ready for ordering, and as always U.P. Pasties, too. If you’re looking for a unique Christmas gift for someone on your list, both the calendars and some Pasties would be a great choice. Awesome waves. It was like that in Duluth this past weekend. It was amazing. When she gets on a roll there's no stopping her. Thanks for sharing these great pictures.

When I posted the NOAA wave map last week, predicting the 20 footers, I was hoping someone would be able to get us some photos and video. George certainly came through. Thank you George and Mary. If you follow the video to George's Facebook page you can turn on the High Definition setting.
