Steve Brimm from Steve Brimm Photography, captured this beautiful rainbow shot over Copper Harbor. He said the passengers that were heading over to Isle Royale National Park on the Isle Royale Queen asked him if that was a good omen. Steve told them yes, but the NOAA disagreed with him.
By the looks of the second photo of the Ranger III on her way back from Isle Royale, the NOAA was correct, because they had some pretty rough water coming into the Portage Upper Entry. In this photo from UP Adventures, the Ranger was rocking and rolling and is a bit tipped to the side even, so I’m guessing there were a few sea-sick passengers aboard.
UP Adventures shares a video from a day or two later, when the Ranger was coming into the Portage Lower Entry. The water was calmer that day, which made for a much smoother ride for her passengers.

This reminds me of the prayer:
O God Protect Me for Thy Sea Is So Great And My Boat Is So Small
