George C. Bailey lost a bit of sleep this past weekend, as he was up in the wee hours of the morning capturing the Northern Lights over Copper Harbor. He noted in his first photo that there is a curious beam of purple haze projecting through Andromeda Galaxy. The blue/green light is the Copper Harbor Lighthouse beacon and the smaller light to the left of that, is the buoy at the entrance to the channel. George’s second photo is looking over Porter Island there in Copper Harbor, with a bit of clouds in front of the Aurora lights. It’s amazing how the lights change with the angle and direction you’re snapping the photos. For more shots from this weekend, head over to George’s Facebook page by clicking here: George C. Bailey.
We join Shawn Malone of Lake Superior Photo, for a video look at the Aurora Borealis in Marquette. Make sure you have your sound on, you’ll get the bonus of hearing the waves washing onto the Lake Superior shore.
