Judy Byykkonen keeps her pups active, bringing them to specially designated ski trails for dogs in the winter and now that warmer weather is coming, she’s getting them out on the Dog Beach at McLain Park. I had no idea there was such a thing at the park there, but Judy says you drive past the first grassy open picnic area and stop just where the first parking lot ends. There is a trail to the lake and a sign saying “dog beach”. How neat is that?
There’s so much to do there at McLain, with beautiful views like Judy’s shot of the Upper Entry Light and breakwall, with a rock sculpture in the forefront. It’s a Keweenaw gem for sure.
Since we’re talking doggies, today’s video shows ChrisH training his beagle, Punch. It looks like they’re at another park in the area, but I don’t know which one for sure.

I didn't know there was a dog beach either! How cool is that? Great video of the beagle in training ~ and after only 2 weeks! Chris is a great trainer!

Super stuff! I'd love to get a dog, name him Alex and train him to fetch beer.
