Jamie Harter said she loves watching the animals that come to visit in her Rice Lake area yard. She recently had one visitor that was pretty proud of himself, all puffed UP and strutting around, trying to impress the “girls” in the flock. You’ll notice though, the “girls” don’t seem too interested in this Tom turkey’s strutting around. Nice try Tom. Jamie’s second photo makes me think maybe Tom gave up on the turkey hens and was trying to impress the doe that was sharing the feeding grounds there, too. If so, the doe doesn’t seem very impressed either. Better luck next time, Tom.
Today’s video chronicles the return of the Grand Hotel Percheron horses to their stable on Mackinac Island. There was plenty of hay waiting for them to snack on as they returned to their “home” on the Island, for the summer.

Nice pic's and video's, yesterday and today! Yesterday looked really encouraging, can't wait to get U.P. there!! Looking forward to observing the beach and water levels at LB!
Working in the office today, the smell of my pasty cooking (10 more minutes to go until the ketchup meets the crust) is making it difficult to concentrate on my phone calls!! lol

It doesn't appear these turkeys are the "aggressive" kind like in Boston. See aggressive turkeys. Guess Bostonians have no sisu!

Heavens! Thanks for the link.
Martha Kirk (Misschiefie), i'd hate to see how these people react to a swan or nesting Canada goose. They'd be calling in a SWAT team!
