Luckily enough, Brad Deforge recently obtained a new drone camera, so we reap the benefits of him getting out with it to practice taking photos around the Keweenaw. He was recently UP at Bete Grise, showing us what the conditions were like a little over a week ago. Interesting that the water within the channel that goes from Lake Superior to Lac La Belle was open water, while both ends were still frozen. I’m guessing it has to do with currents in the water there keeping it open. Before you know it, boats will be in and out, including kayaks exploring the Lac La Belle and Superior shores. I, for one, can’t wait!
Alan Condra takes us on a wintry video tour of Bete Grise. Looks like the ice cover was still quite similar at that time, too. Fun to see it all from above, thanks to the invention of drones.

Fantastic Pic's!! One of my favorite places in the Keweenaw, can't wait to get there towards the end of July, it's already booked!!

As I have said before, the beauty and breath taking perspective of drone video's is unmatched.
