The winters in the Keweenaw are often gray and cloudy, with not much sunshine, but last week one day, the clouds shifted, the sun peeked out and the blue skies made an appearance once again. Debbie Jarve was out and about in Calumet to capture the moments so we can enjoy them over and over again. We’ll have to keep these as file photos for the next stretch of days when we don’t see sunshine and the snow just keeps coming without a break in the clouds. Nice to see the streets of Calumet and landmarks along the way, too.

5th Street is looking a bit different this weekend, since they’ve decked it out with plenty of snow for the running of the Copper Dog races. I’m hoping we get some photos of that event to share for the coming week!

In the meantime, let’s take a ride through Mohawk, with E. Neil Harri. This was obviously one of our cloudy/snowy days, with no sunshine or blue skies in sight.

Awesome pics and I love Mr. Harri's vids...

I watched the dogs on TV6 news....That was
definitely dog weather....and it was full of folks.
Nothing stops the U.P.!!

What time was the storm done? Did March come in
like a Lion??

Nice and now I’ve got those UP blues!!
And I could tell that was Mr. Harri’s
vehicle by the running lights on the
hood.
