Melanie Hakala Rossi had some special visitors for the holiday season, her daughter and family were here from Georgia. The southerners enjoyed the snow and colder temperatures, getting outdoors to snowshoe and even made a lifesize snowman, too. Grandma Melanie enjoyed taking her grandkids on adventures and making wonderful memories with them. From the smiles in these photos, I think they all had a great time before having to head back south.
The Woodsy Introverts share a rare phenomenon they recently saw in the skies - Polar Stratospheric Clouds. This is what they said about them: “Polar stratospheric clouds form high in the stratosphere during the winter. This happens when the clouds scatter the sunlight creating these brilliant pastel colors. We were mesmerized by the beauty in the sky. From what we understand they are rare to see. It was the perfect time with the sun, cold temps and the clear blue skies.”

What fun, and what nice pictures. They sure did make some fun memories. I bet those kids will never forget that.

And wouldn't that be stunning to see that cloud. How cool!

Hi It's great that the guests had an opportunity to enjoy a winter adventure. I've never snowshoed; I like cross-country skiing.

Sweet pix! I wonder if Melanie’s son-in-law rents himself out, because I sure could use someone like that right now. I’d call him a Umanber.
