This past weekend, the Keweenaw experienced a warm-up in temperatures and rain for a couple days, which resulted in some substantial melting in some parts. James Hoffman was even talking about a possible beach party at Rabbit Bay and he commented that the water was actually really warm. I love the first shot, with the sun rays shining through the trees. But it sure looks strange not to see any ice formed on the shores of Lake Superior there, although in the bottom photo, I think that might be a small chunk floating in the calm Superior waters. And the sand on the beach showing, too...it’s January, though and we've already begun accumulating more snow and colder temperatures...brrr.
Speaking of snow... today’s video was shot on Christmas Eve when In The Keweenaw was Rippin’ on Ripley. Good thing they have snow making machines on Mont Ripley to keep the hills covered in white.

Gorgeous UP Blue Sky pix! And that style of video photography always amazes me. Is it a drone or a selfie?

We really did have a nice December again this year. It's nice to see open water like that. And that sunray is so pretty. We got maybe 2" of snow recently, but the sun is shining brightly with blue skies right now. It's only 13° with a cool wind thrown in there too. Sometimes I prefer the clouds, lol.
