Whenever Nancy Haun comes to town, she stops and checks on the grounds around the Bishop Baraga Shrine. It’s such a peaceful, holy place that can bring calm to a hectic world. In the winter it’s even quieter, with the snow falling and blanketing everything, including the Bishop himself. Nancy snapped the first two photos here today and they illustrate what I’m talking about quite well.

I wonder who owns the old store there?? Used to be
a couple of local gals, and then a nun owned it for
a bit...too bad the Bishop bunch don't own it and
turn it back to the store..some of the shoppables
are awesome. But I don't need anything else in this
super small apt..if something comes in, something
gotta go out!
