Last week we experienced some wild winds, which if you’re anywhere around Lake Superior, you know big waves always come with the winds. George C. Bailey was “chomping at the bit” to get outside and snap some photos, especially because the waves were so large they were cresting over the roof of their shop on the Lake Superior shore. George’s wife, Gail did not want him slipping and sliding on the rocky shoreline, but finally gave in as he promised to be careful and not go up on the roof of the shop...so out George went. He said Gail is always concerned, but in the long run, she knows that he doesn’t take unnecessary chances. When he returned unscathed, Gail said, “A picture is worth a thousand words” and boy is she right! The colors of the Big Lake, along with the power displayed in George’s captures is nothing short of amazing! I for one, though, am glad his wife reminds him to be careful and to stay off the roof! Thank you, Gail!
The wind and waves were wild in Marquette, too. 906 Images was on hand at the Blackrocks, where folks jump into Superior, from the rocks in the video. Those are 20 foot waves crashing over them. If I’m not mistaken, I think the rocks are about 15 feet above the water on a calm Lake Superior day.

Doesn’t get much better than that! It’s a wonderful life, George Bailey. Thanks for the pix.

Omgosh! It really is a wonderful life for George Bailey! These photos are magnificent! Huge thank you to his wife for letting him go out to play. I get it though. When the winds are really bad, I don't like Ron making a trip to waterworks. It can be so dangerous.

Holy WTF?!? Over the Roof? George, where are the pics?
According to the marine weather reporting, that storm produced up to 30 foot waves!
