Check it out, 5th Street in Calumet is all decked out for the Christmas Season! Barbara Bouwkamp took a stroll in downtown Calumet recently, snapping photos along the way. She said it was a lovely surprise and was blown away at how nice the displays all were. There of course were more photos than what are here today, but seven photos was pushing it, so I couldn’t include them all. I’m thinking it would be a fun walk to do in person, on the next nice evening (meaning when the wind isn’t blowing at 35 mph, with 50 mph gusts). If you’re not feeling in the Christmas mood quite yet, it just might turn that around for you.
In case you haven’t heard, Visit Keweenaw shares that the CopperDog 150 Returns! Kelly Probst, Race Director for the 2025 races gives us a look at the race highlights. Before you know it, the dogs and mushers will be racing...CopperDog 150 will take place February 28th, March 1st and 2nd in 2025. For more information, click here: CopperDog 150

Nice! I’ll take one of those and one of those; a Chia Head and I always wanted the Clap. I mean the Clapper. (my bad) And the video reminds of a nickname that my dad gave to my mom; he used to call her “Mush”.

Calumet looks like a storybook village all decorated in the snow! It does help me feel more like Christmas and i hope the local stores have a wonderful Christmas season. Thanks for the tour, Barbara.

Beautiful! Take me back to my youth. Things aren't the same as they used to be. I can't get enough of these pictures. Nice job.

How gorgeous...They've always done it up on the main drag in Calumet....
I am sure the Mushers from all over the world are thrilled the Copper Dog is back! Those folks take their craft seriously. It's a beautiful thing!

Hi Pasty Family, UC said i could pass along an update. He has been in the hospital but hopes to go home tomorrow. His orders are 6-8 weeks of non-weight bearing. I'm sure he'd appreciate many prayers that he heals well.
