Brita Haapala captured a classic photo of her daughter and asked, “Remember doing this?” I sure do and because of this photo, I’ve revived that practice when I head out for my walk and it’s snowing, I pause and catch a few snowflakes before I begin and again when I finish my walk. It’s fun and actually quite relaxing, plus it’s probably a good neck tightening exercise, too. Get outside and act like a kid again, catch a few snowflakes yourself!
Check out the blue sky against the snow on the ground and trees at Brita’s parent’s home. She was hoping for this exact picture all afternoon and it had been mostly cloudy, then all of a sudden the skies cleared and her photographic moment came. Simply stunning!
And last, but not least, a shot through the snowy branches, looking at the lights of what I’m guessing is Brita’s sauna building. You can see some wood in the front shed, ready to “feed” the sauna stove. Brita commented that there is something to be said for the long, dark evenings of the wintry north. Such a peaceful, cozy scene.
Not just kids like to catch those snowflakes on the tongue...check out this Grizzly Bear catching some, too. He sure looks relaxed, without a care in the world. See, it’s good for you, give it a try!

Great pictures and video. I love catching snowflakes. All 3 pictures are Christmas card worthy. But I think my favorite is the last one. There's something so cozy and relaxing about that one.

Great pictures and hilarious video. I have heard that if you catch snowflakes on your tongue in the Keweenaw, they are as sweet as red red wine! As far as the video goes, if you’re gonna take a video of me catching snowflakes on my tongue, you could’ve at least expanded the viewfinder to also include my brother Alex, who was sitting right next to me! lol :-))
Have a great day, headed for an MRI shortly.

Gorgeous pics! All of them...Especially the last one. And the bear? Way cool...I had to look up if they hibernate. Some do, some don't. They aren't black bears! It also says "Grizzly bears can "partially" recycle their body wastes during this period."...oh boy!
That's off Wikipedia.

UC, good to see your post! Was hoping you weren't in the ICU. Praying for good news from the MRI and for the docs to finally get this figured out!

Thanks so much, JB! The MRI didn’t actually take place till later this afternoon so I’ll have some results tomorrow morning. I would imagine. Thanks again.
