I have to preface this with the note that actual fall colors are either at peak or beginning to be just past peak here in the U.P., depending on where you’re at, but here on the Pasty Cam, we have so many beautiful photos from folks, that we’re going to make fall last much longer than it actually does. So, I hope you enjoy our extended fall.

With that being said, we join Debbie Jarve for a close-up look at some beautiful Keweenaw fall colors. I absolutely love the leaves floating in the water shots. The silkiness of the water surface and the leaves floating along just embody fall completely for me. Debbie’s remaining photos are just so beautiful with the vivid yellows, oranges and reds. It doesn’t get much more beautiful than this. We live in an enchanted place and are so lucky we get to experience all the seasons, but especially this colorful one each year.

We head over to the Western U.P., to enjoy the outdoors and Michigan’s Trailhead. Featuring Lake of the Clouds, the Black River Scenic Byway, Rainbow Falls, Cisco Chain of Lakes, Ottawa National Forest, Lake Superior, Black River Harbor, Sylvania Wilderness, Bond Falls and Copper Peak. An all around great place for kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing and waterfalls.

Beautiful! With all the maple leaves involved, Canadians might find
these photos impressive.

By Kathyrn Laughlin (Kathyl) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 09:57 am:

Hi
I was in the northern lower over the weekend, with
the colors at peak. My family and I also drove a
tunnel of trees, M119 along the Lake Michigan
shoreline. It was, unfortunately, very crowded. But
still worth it.

Thomas, I'm a Michigander & I find maple leaves a
joy. Even on the downstate part of the drive north
the maples were at peak color.

By Donna (Donna) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 10:23 am:

Yes Ma'am...the last time I got sprung...you could
tell the leaves were JUST starting to curl....you
could barely tell, but it was happening....still
such beauty.

Absolutely stunning. I think we're
all getting out there as much as
possible to catch as many
beautiful sights as we can. I
never tire of the fall colors.
What we're seeing most of right
now are yellows. But we're
enjoying them so much.

The areas in the video are some of
my favorites. But it's so hard to
pick a favorite UP here.

By Alex - UP-Goldwinger (Alex) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 02:15 pm:

Beautifully artistic set and the
video was a heartbreaker. Places
that I used to go to every year.
And yes Kathryn, the tunnel of
trees is a lower peninsula gem.
Another yearly drive that I used
to take when I was healthier.
And I highly recommend it to
all you Yoopers. It’s just south
of the bridge and begins at
Cross Village and goes down
to Harbor Springs were you
can find a good restaurant
before heading back home.
It’s a must-see in the Fall.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 02:19 pm:

You could have told us that a
little sooner, Alex, lol. Maybe
next year.

By Alex - UP-Goldwinger (Alex) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 02:28 pm:

Oops…that should be Kathyrn. My apologies.

By Alex - UP-Goldwinger (Alex) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 02:37 pm:

Deb…it’s a long way from the Keweenaw.
If you decide to go, you may want to stay
overnight in Mackinaw City and perhaps
take the boat over to Mackinaw Island.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 08:38 pm:

That would be the plan, Alex.

By Kathyrn Laughlin (Kathyl) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 - 08:52 pm:

Hi
Alex, I confess that I made a typo (Kathyrn) when I
first set up this account. Kathryn is correct.
Kathy's OK too.
