Birds of a feather, flock together. Chris Hendra over at Chris Hendra Photography, captured a group of outstanding bird photos. I’m not sure they flock together in the wild, but they are here on the Pasty Cam today. We start with a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird showing off in detail, right down to the individual ruby feathers on his throat.
The second shot is a female American Redstart, looking like it’s ready to munch on the newly sprouted leaves at the end of that small branch. Next is a male Eastern Bluebird, with such vivid blue coloring and the rust breast, too. If you look closely, you can see the raindrops in the photo. Lastly, we get a look at a Downy Woodpecker, peeking out from behind the trunk of that tree with fog as a background. With the expression on his face, it looks like he means business, too.
The Critter Cam video shows off the visitors to their feeder on a rainy day. A female Rose-breasted Grosbeak, a Downy Woodpecker, a female Cowbird and a Northern Cardinal. Neat to see them close-up like this.

These are BEAUTIFUL pics...I've never seen the American Redstart, nor a Bluebird. They are gorgeous...Woodpeckers always look like they mean business. lol
The vid is cool...never saw a male Cardinal..I have seen a female twice...I had a Catbird down in Baraga...I'd put out a half of an orange in the morning, and coming home at lunch, I put the other half out...that bird ate a whole orange daily!!
Nice pics, are these like the birds of Paradise? And will they fly up your nose? I vote for "Ruby" quite the shot, Chris, hard to even catch a glimpse of these I think, let alone get a great pic of one, nice!! Two thumbs U.P.
Happy Friday all, Cheers! I'm toasting my DC to y'all. Have a great weekend.
