We start the week with a stunning, Big Traverse sunrise snapped by Tom Bouwkamp. Willow was enjoying the colors along with Tom, as the sun began coloring not only the sky over Lake Superior, but the calm waters as well. The clouds played a part in the scene, too, making for quite the dramatic morning.

Fast forward a number of hours and we end the day with Sherry Hansen’s furry friends enjoying a sunset swim in Lake Superior. Whether they live here year round or vacation here with their humans, even the four-legged family members appreciate the beauty of a calm beginning and end of the day on the shores of the Big Lake.

What an interesting story we have from Great Lakes Now about the discovery of a wooden steamship that the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum found. The Adella Shores Steamship was carrying a load of salt to Duluth when it vanished without a trace in Lake Superior and was missing for a century before the museum made this recent discovery.

These are absolutely gorgeous. Is
there a bad picture of that lake?
I don't think so.

Hi
I'm usually not up at sunrise; kudos to those who do
get up & enjoy the beauty.

The video was interesting. I found the part about it
sinking three times before interesting; it sounded
like having a flat tire or running out of gas, in
that it was routine but irritating.

How incredibly gorgeous!!!

Beautiful set!
Unfortunately dogs can’t experience
color the way we can.
Human eyes have three types of cones
that can identify combinations of red,
blue, and green. Dogs possess three
types of cones too; blue, yellow and ice cream.

Beautiful pics, the first and fourth would be in a
large frame on the wall in my home, most likely in
my office it was my dogs and those beautiful
sunrise/sunsets, just spectacular. Interesting
video as well, I wonder how many more secrets
there are lying in the deep depths of Lady
Superior?

A quick note, I'm stuck at home with a large
fluid/salt pocket/blister that developed on the
back of my left calf on 7/6 and then burst and
exposed raw skin the size of a major league
baseball. We had to cancel thus far the 3
destinations here in the lower peninsula with our
friends. They return back home on the 21st and
we'll see if we can travel by then to the supposed
to be first U.P. stop, Grand Marais. Actually,
there is a possibility that the whole summer trip
could be cancelled. The 3 cancellations so far
were like tearing up $$$. It is what it is as I
told Mary. If something can go wrong, it seems to
find me lately. Quite disappointed, Oh well, just
doing what the doc's say and hoping for some quick
healing. Have a good week all. UC

Oh no, UC. I'm so very
disappointed for you. I thought
you'd probably be in the UP by
now. I'll say some prayers that
you heal up and can get up here to
resume your trip. Hoping to see
you soon.
