H Donn de Yampert sure gets around the U.P. since he’s retired and wherever he goes, it’s with his camera and drone right along with him. He was recently given special access to the Jacobsville Lighthouse – Portage River Lighthouse, by the owners, Susan Heilich Harbourt and her husband Chris. Donn said he enjoyed living their dream project through his camera lens, capturing the beauty of this historic old Lighthouse. The bonus was the time of day he was there and being able to capture the sunrise from the catwalk of the Lighthouse tower. Absolutely stunning!
The drone video he captured shows so many different angles of the Lighthouse, along with views looking out toward Lake Superior. Outstanding footage with a view of the Keweenaw Waterway Lower Entry Light and breakwall toward the end of the video. I've often thought about living in a lighthouse.
