Fred Koski over at Fred Koski Photography, has a plethora of beautiful red Tulips growing in his yard. He tells me that his mother must have planted these a long time ago, since he couldn’t even grow weeds if he tried. Fred said he took over his parent’s house, so it’s nice to see stuff like that still growing every year. I looked up Tulips on Google and it said the most known meaning of tulips is perfect and deep love, so very fitting that these red beauties grow year after year like a message from Fred’s mom, to her son, that she loves him still.

Hop in the boat with The Restless Viking. Chuck and Poppins are taking us on an adventure around the Les Cheneaux Islands, to find a lost lighthouse basecamp on the wilderness island.

And supposedly, Red is the color of Love!

I just read an article on tulips...you have to cut
the flower off to get it to grow another bulb.
otherwise, you just get the one bulb/flower next
year! I've not heard that one before!

Gram used to always have us pick her lilacs..she
said "The more you pick, the more you grow"...

My mom and I went on a long lighthouse cruise that
started in Mackinaw City. We went to Les Cheneaux
Islands, where it was slow no wake (Shepler Ferry
had a bigger boat that the Restless Viking &
Poppins). We also visited St. Martin Reef
lighthouse, then to DeTour lighthouse and
Spectacle Reef lighthouse.

St. Martin Reef lighthouse has the same design as
the Poe Reef lighthouse that is visible from my
family cabin outside Cheboygan. The only
difference is the color: Poe Reef has a black band
while St. Martin is plain white.

dropped off so I'm not sure if
cutting the tops off will help or
not. But I'll try. Thanks for
