We begin the month of March (and the 27th year of the Pasty Cam) with very little snow or ice on the ground in the Keweenaw area, especially on the beaches. Jeff and Chris Dennis take us first on a moonlit (and headlamp lit) walk along the shores at White City beach, with the now Pasty Cam famous Fritz... but who is his four-legged friend you ask? That’s his brother, Toby. He hasn’t appeared as much as Fritz on these pages, maybe he’s not quite as adventurous as his brother. The second photo is from a beach combing day, well, Chris was doing the beach combing. Looks like Fritz was chewing on branches trying to get a stick to fetch. Check out the third photo, Jeff said that may be the biggest piece of green glass they’ve found so far. It’s definitely a beauty and a rare find.

The fourth photo comes to us from Bob Gilreath. He shares another rare find...a duo of squirrels raiding his bird feeder. Not that the raiding part was rare, but having two of them on the feeder at once is rare, since they’re usually fighting over it and then for one to be a black squirrel and one a gray squirrel, also a bit unusual. Bob said he was wondering how his feeders emptied so fast... now he knows.

We’re taking a walk on our video today, too... a winter nature walk in the sun, checking out the birds that were flying along, with Get to Know Nature.

Excellent Fritzzz piczzz, but I sure do miss
the kayak. Perhaps Jeff should buy a
dog sled for Fritz to pull. One with wheels
in case there is a lack of snow.
I think that’s a gummy in the third pic because
there is no fourth pic.
And I’m sure the squirrels are holding
up a copy “ North American Tree Squirrels”
on their shelf.
An excellent video! I’ve gained an appreciation
for the outdoors and all it’s splendor from this
website. Many thanks to all who contribute daily!

Fritz has a bro! Way cool!!

Up at Tobacco River...is where I used to find tons
of beach glass. Down on the L'Anse waterfront
there's lots there too! And I believe there's some
to be found at McClain's.

Bob...I used Baffles to stop squirrels, and once I
got them figured out...with NOTHING around for
them to jump from (they can jump HUGE areas) those
baffles worked so awesome! I got them at
Erickson's in Baraga/L'Anse area...they used to
have a BEAUTIFUL bird shopping area in their
store...and I had black and gray squirrels while
living in Baraga....and they'd mate and make a
cool brownish colored squirrel.

The vid is cool too...you can tell the Birds of
Prey by their wings...they curl up at the
end...awesomeness.

Very nice pictures. Wow! Fritz has
a brother. Very cool. I love that
green glass. Nice find. Dogs and
their wood. I don't know how they
don't get slivers in their mouths.

Loved the nature walk. Very cool.

Toby!!! Who knew?!! So cute! Looks like Toby may be a wanderer.

Great vid - and a great way to spend an afternoon!
