If you’ve been following the Pasty Cam for a while, you know that Judy Byykkonen and her four-legged “girls” spend lots of time in the woods and at the Lake, namely Lake Superior. Today Judy shares some raindrop leaves she spotted on their adventure in the woods during a recent rainy day, plus a couple pics of autumn on the fringes of Lake Superior. The adventure wouldn’t be complete without a shot of two of her “girls”, Giselle and Zelda having fun on the beach. Judy said that Zelda (the bigger, white pup) loves the Big Lake. She will lay in water in creeks or rivers but when she gets to Lake Superior, she gets the zoomies! Even doggies are drawn to Lady Superior.

Steve Brimm says there is something so beautiful about autumn rain and back roads. Let’s join him for a calming stroll to see where he’s been!

Nice pix of autumn and the Aquadogs!
Sweet video too, but it ended too soon.
I was just settling into it then pooph,
it was gone. :-(

Great pics & video as always, gotta love the dogs on
the beach!!

Gotta get back up one more time this year, have to
see if we can make that happen!! Our October trip
was cut short, as I told MS Mary, but the drive is
always part of the adventure for me too.

Big test at the U at noon today. Hoping all goes
well, it should, I've been "Feelin Alright".. hoping
Alex & Donna are too! :=))

I love autumn leaves. They're just so cool.
My favorite is the one with the dogs. Love
that sky. Great shots!

SHEESH.... where's my head at today, Deb, hope
Ron's shoulder is coming along, he's been through
plenty with that wing! He's going to be like the 6
Million dollar man when they finally get that
shoulder right!! :=))

D.A. You're doing ok right? lol

Like my uncle always said, "Gettin old ain't for
sissy's!"

Have a great day all, I'm A2 bound!!

By Donna (Donna) on Thursday, October 19, 2023 - 10:51 am:

Thank you Uncle Chuck....you rock. I hope you pass
your test with flying colors~!

Great pics, and the video was cool, but it's a one
laner...I sure hope it's a driveway...or a trail?

Lou took me for a spin after an appt
yesterday....We went down the Covered Drive. I bet
it's turning into "just sticks" soon....this rain
will empty the trees. I love my Lou!

U.C.,

Thanks for asking. I have several physical complaints that would be worth mentioning if I was 40, but at 69 I think I'm probably pretty average. I did get another injection in my bum knee. First one lasted 6 months. It's made from rooster combs. Seems to work pretty well. No new knee yet. Maybe the shoulder will come first?

I've been run ragged throughout this past Summer and Fall as my sister entered a nursing home in July. I'm overseeing the operation but she lives 5 hours south, so I've lost track of the number of trips. Fixing up and selling her house, putting stuff in storage, and making sure she has what she needs, etc. First time in quite awhile I've missed a trip north.

It's always great that I have Pasty and you guys to stay close. It's been overcast almost every day but last Tuesday the MODIS satellite captured a good shot south of the Portage.

Compare the above photo to this one from Oct 4th.
The areas south to Wisconsin are well past peak now but places in the Keweenaw, especially along The Lake are still quite "active". Strange.

Geez guys, sounds like we're all falling
apart lol. UC, Ron will be meeting with his
doctor soon to decide when to have his
shoulder done. It's so hard because there's
driveway cleaning in winter and who wants to
be laid up in the summer? Plus I have to see
the doctor to see when o should have my knee
replaced. I've gotten around pretty good for
not having any cartilage in my knee. D.A.,
I've had those shots. The first one lasted
well over a year and maybe closer to two.
Second one not so long and now they don't
work. So there's another decision. We have
nobody to do our shoveling so one of us has
to be healthy. U.C., study hard for your
test, as Ron would say. And what's up with
Jbuck?

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Thursday, October 19, 2023 - 05:24 pm:

Is there anyone left with any working body parts?
My brain is still working although I could use
a check up from the neck up.

By Kathyrn Laughlin (Kathyl) on Friday, October 20, 2023 - 09:06 am:

Hi
Is Zelda part-Lab? My cousin's part-Lab couldn't
wait to get to Lake Huron. She began hanging out
the car window sniffing energetically as soon as
they hit the secondary road back leading to their
property.

DA, I'm not sure of the scientific explanation,
but colors turn a little later right by the shore.

To everyone with wonky body parts: I said years
ago, to my cousin Terry, "If my body was a car I'd
trade it". Seriously, good luck to all of you.

By D. A. (Midwested) on Friday, October 20, 2023 - 02:40 pm:

Kathyrn,

It's cold that triggers and drives the change. The Lake moderates the temperatures. Superior's cold water is still warmer than the 40 and 30 deg. air at night. I'm confused by the areas 100 miles south that turned (and ended) first.
