The end of August has arrived so quickly, along with it, the end of summer. We pause today to remember all those who have left us too soon:

Deepest condolences to all and may you find peace and comfort.

Remembering our wonderful neighbor, Tom, and praying for his heartbroken wife who is struggling to carry on.

Also remembering our cousin, Jim, who was in his 90s, and the last of his generation in our family. It had been many years since we visited in person, but we hold him fondly in our hearts.

If I can, I'd love to add our dear, sweet Golden
Retriever, Rocky to this list. We lost him to a
stroke after nearly 14 years in our family. I know
it doesn't compare to the human loved ones lost but
he was an important part of our lives for a long
time and will be missed forever. Fly free, sweet
Rockman...

Condolences to all. Thankfully I only know 1
on that list, but it's another classmate.
Too many of us gone, mostly due to that
despicable cancer.

60 years ago yesterday I lost my paternal
grandfather. That hardly seems possible.
Remembering him and my maternal grandmother
who has been gone 42 years this month. I'll
never forget them.

Forgot special condolences to jbuck's
losses, and also Joanne's special dog. Our
pets are so important to us. Hugs to you.

JoAnne, so sorry for your loss of Rocky the
"Rockman". In many ways, our dogs (pets) mean more
at least to me, than many people. I hope your
memories of Rocky and pictures will warm your heart
and let you smile again real soon! He'll be waiting
for you when that day comes, I believe.

JoAnne, my heart goes out to you very deeply. I
lost my Labradoodle a few months ago, and I've
never felt such heartache!! Ever! You are
absolutely right Uncle Chuck, that pets mean more
to me than any other human being I know or ever
have known. They give true companionship and
love, physically, emotionally and spiritually -
lots more than any human has the capability of
giving - so PURE!!
JoAnne, he'll be in your heart every single day
forever. That hurt never fades. I sleep with my
sweet boy - his ashes in the urn are on my bed
every night, and will be until I'm gone.
