In the blink of an eye, another month has flown by. At the end of the month we pause and remember:

Jenna Barrette
Shirley Ceno
Mary Pat Myers
Dale Plante
Paul “Ozzie” Winquist
Innocent victims of war in the current conflict,
Servicemen & women and
Frontline workers who have given their all

We extend our sincere sympathy to all who have suffered the loss of someone near and dear to them. We encourage you to add the names of those you’d like to remember, too.

Special thanks to Brita Haapala for the beautiful sunset in the midst of a storm.

Remembering my mother…July 24, 2019.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, July 31, 2023 - 09:28 am:

My condolences to all who have lost loved
ones this month, including you, Alex.
I'm wondering if Ozzie is the same Ozzie
Winquist who was a friend of my dad's. I
never knew his first name. He was always
Ozzie. Condolences to his family from me and
my mom.

That's Ozzie, Deb. He worked for the gas company for years, and knew EVERYONE!~ He was simply a GENTLEMAN....the kind of guy that is disappearing.
We ain't gonna see them anymore. He was a Korean War Vet. One of the most awesome people on this planet....He lived here at Heritage Manor for awhile. Every month,I'd make a big fruit salad and bring him half. Was he thrilled...every single time. We'd share pasties...sometimes he'd come down and we'd watch Discovering together. He was a GOOD man....they don't make 'em like that anymore.
I miss him.

God's Blessings to all.

Remember, it's a party for them...to get home and see everyone you loved. Ozzie's got a big party to hit!

Donna you're right. Ozzie was a very nice
man. It was so random, because when I lived
in Minnesota, we went to watch the Red Wings
play the North Stars in about 1991 or 1992.
And sitting next to us were members on
Ozzie's family. It was so Red Wings fans
there except my hubby, lol. Who'd have
thought we'd run into people from Calumet?

Thank you, Deb. BTW…That is a beautiful photo.

Deb, NO kidding! How cool is that! The Wings rock!

Ozzie was special. No question at all.

Beautiful picture for the remembrances today. Thinking of Janet, who went Home 2 years ago. Sending condolences to you Alex, as you remember your Mother.
