Today’s photos from Brita Haapala remind me of walking through a field of wild flowers, that’s what someone commented on her photos and Brita said that’s exactly why she gets out there. These are the flowers Brita found on a recent walk around Fulton, just outside of Mohawk. The first one had me stumped, but thanks to Google image search, I found them to be Calibrachoa, often referred to as Mini Petunias. Beautiful colors and plentiful flowers. Next in the line-up is Dandelion Fluff. Not sure that’s the technical name, but it works for me and it’s the thing wishes are made on. Number three is the common daisy, a go-to for little ones that want to make Mom smile with a hand-picked bouquet.

Not everyone will recognize the blossoms in the fourth photo, but if you’ve ever been out looking for thimbleberries you know what they are! In the not too distant future, those blossoms will be bright red thimbleberries. And no, Brita isn’t revealing where these are. Last, but not least, a group of Lupines with a backdrop of a huge Lilac bush. I can only imagine the scents that she smelled walking by these beauties. All very pretty flowers. I love mini
petunias probably even more than the regular
sized ones. And who doesn't love daisies?
They bloom for so long. And we're waiting
for those berries to pop out for sure.
(Don't worry, Brita, we have our own spots.)
We picked 10# last year. The jam was
delicious and our kids and neighbor were
very happy with theirs. And lastly, not a
lot of our dandelions turn to fluff as we
pick them for jelly. Thanks for going for a
walk.
