If you haven’t heard about 41 North Co yet, today’s photos will introduce you to them. They posted these three Lake Superior shots on their Facebook page, saying that Paddle boards are so cool on a still day on Lake Superior. If you’re in luck, you’ll get a chance to watch fish swim around right below you. These photos are the definition of the ‘wild blue yonder’. You can’t see it in these shots, but if you were looking down from overhead, you’d be able to see what the paddler can see below him, clear as can be when Superior is like glass with the only ripples coming from the paddle that moves the board. Note the wordage on the paddle board in the first photo: Paddle North, which goes along with the wordage on the paddlers sweatshirt: 41 North Co. Now we’re heading to Marquette to do a little more paddling. This time with Brian and Heather Outdoors as we paddle around Presque Isle Sea Caves on another calm Lake Superior day.

What a beautiful day to be on a paddle
board. Well, not me because I'm a chicken,
but other people lol. The video is gorgeous.

UP Blues…I love it! You can’t tell where the lake ends and the sky
begins.

Hi
Deb S, I agree about the paddleboard. But I do like
going out in my kayak on a still day. Between my
limited skill and the kayaks design (intended for
inland ponds), I don't attempt to go out when it's
too wavy.

How beautiful! And a hoodie on the Big Lake? That's
Love~

Looks like fun but i'd be leery of how quickly a white squall could kick up! And no life vest!

At :30 in the video it looks like a man made trench underwater. Is that a natural feature? It looks so squared off.

By Donna (Donna) on Monday, June 19, 2023 - 07:08 pm:

Jbuck...I wondered what that is as well. I knew a
gal that had a place on Keweenaw Bay, and she
always said it looked like an airstrip under the
water....wild stuff!

By D. A. (Midwested) on Monday, June 19, 2023 - 11:40 pm:

I agree that the feature at 30 seconds appears to be man made. The lines are just too straight and with 2 structures they are are simply too parallel.
