As summer begins, another month comes to an end. We pause this last day of May to remember those who have left us too soon:

Father Francis Dobrzenski
Nancy McGann Fenton
Margaret “Marge” Griffor
Dee Jezek
Roger Lewis
Gordon Lightfoot
Craig Rheault
Gertrude Rivest
Innocent victims of war in the current conflict,
Servicemen & women and
Frontline workers who have given their all

All of us here at Pasty Central extend our sincere condolences to those that have lost someone near and dear to them. If the name Dee Jezek, above, sounds a bit familiar, that’s because her husband, Frank was a contributor for a number of years when they lived in Ontonagon, so we send our sympathies to Frank and his family, also. Please feel free to add the names of those you’d like to remember here.

Special thanks to Sally Beaudette for the beautiful Bootjack Sunset.

Only time and tears take away grief; that is what they are for. - Terry Pratchett

Condolences to all. A beautiful pik and thanks for remembering

Gordon Lightfoot:

“Sometimes I think it's a sin

When I feel like I'm winning,

when I'm losing again”

What a gorgeous sky~!

Marge was such a cool old gal...
Gordon Lightfoot...there's a loss.
Craig Rheault...fly high lil' buddy...
And there's Ricky Laurn who died way too young
too.

Death can come at any minute, in any way. We do
not know what is in store tomorrow, or, whether
there is a tomorrow, or even a tonight! But still,
we have the golden present. Now we are alive and
kicking. What should we do now? Love all, serve
all.

In the early morning rain
With a dollar in my hand
With an aching in my heart
And my pockets full of sand
I'm a long way from home
Lord, I miss my loved ones so
In the early morning rain
With no place to go
.
.
.
So I'd best be on my way
In the early morning rain

Tread lightly, 'tis a soldiers grave,
A lonely mossy mound;
And yet to hearts like mine and thine,
It should be holy ground.
Speak softly, let no careless laugh,
Nor idle thoughtless jest,
escape your lips where sweetly sleeps this hero in his rest.
For him no reveille will beat,
When morning beams shall come;
For him, at night, no tattoo rolls
Its thunders from the drum.
Tread lightly! for a man bequeathed,
here laid beneath this sod,
His ashes to his native land,
His gallant soul to God.

Beautiful sunset.

This May marks the 10th year since the passing of my beloved wife Kellie. I dearly miss you every day.
