The Keweenaw Superior shoreline has some thick ice cover and thanks to Jamie Rowe, we get a look at some of the formations. In her first three photos, you can see a freighter off in the distance, but I am mostly intrigued by the coating of ice on the small trees along the shoreline, with it only covering the side facing Lake Superior. The first photo, they almost seem to be critters watching the freighter go by and in the second shot, you can see how thick that ice really is. Pretty neat! I’ve lived here my whole life, but icy coatings like these never cease to grab my attention and astonish me.
We have seen some of the deer that visit out at the Dennis camp at Little Traverse Bay, but today, Jeff Dennis shares a compilation of video clips of the deer on the Lake Superior shore, some night time, some day time, but all fun to watch their antics. Sit back, get comfy and relax, as the video is just over 20 minutes. It’s a good way to unwind after all the hubbub of the holiday winds down.

Very 'cool' pictures! It is amazing how the ice didn't cover the trees - just the lake side! Obviously a factor in how hard the winds were blowing.
The video is great - like how you can hear the waves on the shore too!
Nice pics, second is my favorite. Good looking video, like to see the deer healthy.

I really like that 2nd picture with the framed freighter. I also love the 5th one with the nice, thick snow on the branches.
