If you’re going to live here in the Keweenaw, you might as well embrace the snow and ice. There’s a saying I’ve heard quite often in the past couple years...“If you choose not to find joy in the snow, you will have less joy in your life, but the same amount of snow” - Anonymous. Stacey Flood takes that one to heart and gets outdoors in the winter taking photos along the way. She captured today’s shots on New Year’s Eve Day in the Eagle Harbor area. It’s neat how the ice is different in various spots, even clear like in the bottom photo. I enjoyed Stacey’s title for the big ice covered rock in the second photo... that’s a Lake Superior Nessie!
Another family that embraces the winter here in the Copper Country are the folks at It’s Yooper Time, Lisa, Randy and the pups, Bella, Boris and Ramsey. We join them for an afternoon during the lake effect snow system we had last week, hot chocolate not included.

Love the first three pictures a lot. The 4th one looks like penguins to me. Very cool.
