Mary Schmitt doesn’t live too far from the Traprock River, so she can take a walk there and check things out whenever she wants to. On this day, she had her granddog Harlow with her for the walk. Harlow is an English Shepherd who looks like he enjoys being out and about in the snow. With the colder temperatures we had this past week, the River is frozen over and then it catches the snow flakes on top the ice, making an artistic arrangement of snow and ice. Before long that will all be covered with layer upon layer of snow, once winter gets kicked into full gear here in the Copper Country.
We’re going to get a look at a Ruffed Grouse foraging in the snow for something to eat. As it walks along wading through the Keweenaw snow, it picks buds off the plants while the snow falls all around.

What a cute dog. I love the picture called Wintry Shoreline. But I like all of them. The grouse video was cool too.
