I wonder when George C. Bailey and his wife Gail started building their home on the north shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula overlooking Lake Superior, if they ever dreamed they would have beautiful canvas worthy views like they do most every day. I know they appreciate it now and George said he’s always glad to share them since people need local feel good vibes, plus he really just does it for the fun of it! He titled these shots, July sunset and I have to say that each one has its own particular beauty. Of course the bonus is the freighter sailing by in two of the shots. Superior beauty at its best!
On the way to the northern most point on mainland Michigan, you’ll find the Delaware Mine on US41. Thanks to Visit Keweenaw, we get to explore the Deeps of the Delaware Mine, with Tom Poynter as our host!

Beautiful! You’re a fortunate couple, Mr and Mrs Bailey, thanks for
George and Gail are indeed very fortunate. Beautiful.
Except for the huge steam engine, I found the Delaware mine tour more interesting than the Quincy tour. Exploring the ghost towns of the Keweenaw can be a full time hobby.
