We don’t always know what a photographer goes through to capture the photos they share. In fact we probably don’t even think about it as we enjoy the beauty they caught with the click of a shutter button. Like today’s photos, you wouldn’t know that Frances Czapski from Photography by Frances, stood out there in frigid early morning temperatures of -5 degrees, with the windchill dipping down to -15 degrees, to snap this golden-pink sunrise on the shores of Lake Superior’s Whitefish Bay. She said it was quite, “Brrr... but oh so beautiful and wonderful to see the sun!” I like how the sun seems to warm the scene as it rises up over the horizon, putting a glow on the ice and snow.
In today’s video we join Glenn Johnson for a daytime look around Whitefish Point on what looks like an equally frigid day.

What a great way to start the day! Beautiful sunrises (the 2nd is spectacular!) and lighthouses! What could be better? Have a blessed day Pasty friends!

Americans seeem to have a historic predisposition to tear up the pea patch, an inability to leave well enough alone...always like and check on Frances' Whitefish Point photos...superb!

These pictures are stunning. The last one is my favorite. Thank you to Frances for braving the cold to get them. Loved the video too. For some reason the lake looks further away from the lighthouse than it really is. Must be the snow.
