Deb Simons and Mr. Deb have been making the rounds in the Keweenaw since they’ve retired here. Going to many places that they couldn’t always get to when just UP North for a visit. Their stop this past week was at the Mount Calvary Cemetery just outside of Lake Linden, the final resting place for her Dad and Brother. Deb mentioned that it’s such a gorgeous place to be laid to rest. I have to agree with that observation, especially this time of year, when the trees display such a variety of colors to surround those resting there.
Adam Johnson, the man behind the camera at brockit, inc, shares a video of the fall colors in the area with the following lead-in: Keweenaw Peninsula, your colors are showing! For a look at more of brockit, inc photography, check out their Facebook page here: brockit, inc.

Thanks for sharing our visit to the cemetery. I have to say that it's beautiful there even in the summer. I'm not in a hurry to get there, but it's a really pretty spot.

Sweet pix, Deb! And yes...may it be many-a-year before we have to think about the plot-trip. My brother-in-law (God bless him) secured my plot back in the 80s in a family plot. All I have to do is pack a lunch. :)

Gorgeousness.
Are they putting headstones in "laying down" now? Someone told me they no longer are "upright"....

The last people that I knew who passed have standing headstones. I don't like the ones that don't stand. My in-laws have the laying one and if you didn't know who was buried there, it'd be hard to find. I hope they don't do away with the standing ones.
