We have a second installment on the Cindy Conway and Mike Donnelly U.P. Adventures. Today we’re hiking the Beaver Basin area and the North Country trail. Cindy filled me in, that not all the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore cliffs are on the Superior shoreline. She said they encountered them on this trial, which by the way, is not for the faint of heart. She got a good way up the steep hill, until she saw the view from that point UP and decided to let Mike pick his way the rest of the way to the top of that big cliff and she would wait there where she was. Cindy didn’t like the looks of that steep trail, with the big ravine falling off to the left. She figured she must be too old, as it was a bit scary for her. While she waited, she noticed all the ferns growing in bunches from the holes in the sandstone and thought they were like Mother Nature’s tiny terrariums.
For those of us, like Cindy, that didn’t go further on the hike, we have a video from Exploring Nature, with some views along the Beaver Basin Wilderness trail.
Stay tuned for Friday, we’ll go on one more adventure with Cindy and Mike!

Nice pix and video...thanks for the hike! A lot of
work went into that trail to make it accessible.
