The Pasty Cam Week of July 19 - July 25, 1998

Saturday, July 25   Nice class picture.  Class of '58 that is, earlier this evening at Calumet High School.  Thanks to Mike Ekdahl for the suggestion and Barbara Hill for arranging it.    (It was a pleasure to meet so many friends of Pasty Central, who visit these pages on a regular basis.)

 

Friday, July 24   Several folks have requested a shot of Mount Houghton, seen here in the distance.  The stainless steel Coast Guard ship is an added bonus, as it passes through the Lac LaBelle channel.   (In the middle, just beyond that sandy strip, you see the waters of Bete Gris)

 

Thursday, July 23   August has arrived early in the Copper Country.  Dry conditions, heat have caused that "pre-Autumn" look already.  Be sure to tour Fort Wilkins before the summer is gone.    (Near Copper Harbor, late afternoon)

 

Wednesday, July 22   By request, a shot of the Finnish American Heritage Center at Suomi... What (or who or where) would you like to see on the Pasty Cam?   (Thanks for all the great suggestions we've received... we welcome your ideas)

 

Tuesday, July 21   Sunsets in the Copper Country have been even more magnificent with the recent frontal systems.  Here we watch some fascinating clouds until the sun sizzles in the Lake... tssssssss...    (I see a horsey and a doggie and...)

 

Monday, July 20   Tom R. from downstate impresses the Pasty Cam with a demonstration of precision picnic table balancing...   (How about planning a Pasty Picnic before July is gone?)

 

Sunday, July 19   The past week was a rare time of travel for the Pasty Cam, with sights from around the U.P.  We conclude with a few scenes of the Pictured Rocks.   (..and tomorrow we continue with our rambling around the Keweenaw)
