I figure every now and again, we all need a train fix and Nancy Haun is always up for the task, snapping photos of the trains crossing US-41 and the Herman Nestoria Road, not to mention the Rock Cut Summit she often visits and this time she took a photo from above, looking down into the rock cut and then a follow-up shot with the train in the middle of the rock cut there below, too. Nancy does a lot of traveling around, both in her vehicle and on foot to capture these photos to share with us all.
Her video is titled “End of the Line”, because as she says, L’Anse is just that, the end of the line for the trains here in the U.P. this far north. Nancy said that any amount of railroad cars over 10 is exciting, since it isn’t too often there are that many cars pulling in to L’Anse. She said it was surprising to see them all leave this day, even the orange CN hoppers that had come in the day before.

I am so glad to see trains still crossing there! The UP needs its rail.
