Between Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Whitefish Point, you’ll find the town of Grand Marais, pictured in the top photo from Patrick Hugenor the guy behind the camera at Head in the Clouds Photography. There are some interesting stops along the Lake Superior shoreline in this area, the Grand Sable Dunes, the Log Slide on the Dunes and there’s Au Sable Point where you can check out the Au Sable Lighthouse Station. Patrick says it’s about a 2 mile hike down to the lighthouse from the spot in his last photo. Sure looks like some beautiful views from this vantage point.
Speaking of Whitefish Point, we have another gem from Frances Czapski over at Photography by Frances. This one is a golden summer sunrise from Whitefish Bay. Perfect way to start any day!

I've never been to Grand Marais. It's been on my bucket list. You just motivated to get that bucket out and use it appropriately before it gets kicked.
BTW, If I walk down the dune, how do I get back up as I'm pretty sure I won't be walking back up the same way?
