Recently, today’s newest Pasty Camist, Jake Gariepy took a drive UP North in the Keweenaw and snapped a few beautiful shots of the ice build-up along the shores of Great Sand Bay, which actually this time of year is looking more like Great Snow Bay. Pretty non-the-less, snowy, sandy or rocky. Jake also captured a shot of something you do not see on the highway very often, but do if you drive out to the Eagle Harbor Marina. Yes, for those of you unfamiliar with this Keweenaw phenomenon, that is a tree growing right in the middle of the road there. Unique indeed.
I have to share...Jake’s Dad, Chris actually sent me these photos about a week ago and I wasn’t able to work them into last week’s line-up. But you know the saying how things happen for a reason. Well, the reason they didn’t make it into last week, is because they were “meant” for this week, as Jake lost his Grandpa, Terry Gariepy a few days ago and now he shares these photos in his memory today. We extend our sincere sympathy to Jake and his family, please keep them in your thoughts while you enjoy Jake’s photos.
Frances Czapski from over at Whitefish Point Michigan, completes our day with a windy sunset over Whitefish Point. Watch for it...at around 6 seconds, you’ll spot the Lighthouse light flash in the trees.
