This group of friends got together for a walk in to the picnic area at White City this past weekend, hauling the food and supplies they needed to enjoy a fire to cook hot dogs and s’mores on. Marcy Bessolo Hermanson snapped some photos of the gathering and added that it was a fun afternoon with friends, which included a windy and chilly walk out to the lighthouse after they enjoyed their wintry picnic. One thing for sure, they didn’t have to worry about crowds and not being able to have a picnic table or grill to use.
Yesterday, winter returned for us Yoopers with some wet, heavy snow falling, depositing around 8” or more, depending on where you are in the Keweenaw. This video from Bob Gilreath was actually made back in October, but I thought I’d share it today, because this is the kind of snow we were getting most of Sunday. On a positive note, it looks like March is coming in like a lion, so I’m hoping it goes out like a lamb, then, too.

Does anyone know why there is an uneven piece of
concrete dock in the first pick? Perhaps it was
poured on a post-hangover Monday.
