Nature puts on its own show just about every day here UP North. Joy Ziemnick was out and about, dressed with layers of winter attire to ward off the cold, capturing some of nature’s artistry before it changes and that particular ice “sculpture” is gone on to become something different. Take a good look at Joy’s shots of Lake Superior’s icy shoreline and I bet you’ll pick out some critters or other formations your eye perceives. It always astounds me what Mother Nature creates with the simple beauty that surrounds us each and every day. You might have to go out in search of the beauty or just tune in here on the Pasty Cam each day to see the latest art work of various photographers.
Ed Nephler headed north to try and capture some drone footage of the Keweenaw North Shore. What he found was a bit of a disappointment to him, as he had been hoping for some big ice on the rocks. There isn’t much ice on the rocks quite yet, but still an icy coating. Being the Keweenaw, we know more is on its way.

Nice pics and video, I liked the music as well. What happens if a camera drone drops into lake superior, does it float and would you go after it? Or does it just join the ship wrecks? :-)

Uncle Chuck, May depend on the make of drone, but that DNR drone that was attacked by an eagle over Lake Michigan sank like a rock!

Just watched something on TV...Eagles are being trained to take out drones....and they do pound them! It's pretty amazing!

WOW, The Lake has certainly shown a more "enchanted" side this week. Both today's ice formations and the ones from earlier in the week on the 29th offer up several interesting images in the frozen art.

Yes, D. A. (Midwested), i saw the critters in the 29th pictures too! And i agree with Mary that the 2nd picture above looks like a pelican. The 3rd picture might be an alligator with it's mouth open.....
