We were bombarded with more snow than normal in October here in the Keweenaw, then it tapered off for the month of November and into December so far. I hear that’s about to change, which is expected for the middle of December.
Brita Haapala, from Brita Caroline Photography, shares a frosty morning recently, with the scenes covered in icy crystals that form a hoarfrost on everything in sight. There is some snow on the ground, too, contributing to all that whiteness, but the frost on the trees and grasses is really a sight to see. It makes everything look a little mystical and magical.
Our video from Jason Asselin, takes us to the Quinnesec area for a visit to Fumee Falls a few years back. Not much snow that year, but it was cold enough to form ice around the edges and rocks.

The first picture is my favorite - just perfect! Thanks Brita!
It has been years since we stopped at Fumee Falls - beautiful falls and about as accessible at any in the UP!
