It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Calumet/Laurium area. Thanks to Barbara Bouwkamp, we get a look at some of the window decorations in downtown Calumet. A new family in the area has purchased a number of buildings in downtown Calumet and is in the process of keeping them up, which also includes decorating the windows. The building in today’s photos, used to be Rowe Furniture, but the new owner has transformed the window-front with a Christmas village display that was his mother’s collection. Check out the second shot, if I’m not mistaken, that looks like Graceland, complete with Elvis’ pink Cadillac in front. This is definitely worth taking some time to check it all out. I thought the Ford dealership was pretty neat, too.
Barbara also snapped a couple photos of the snowflake lights on the towns light poles. They’re nice and bright and quite festive looking. They put a smile on my face when driving through town.
We’re heading to Mackinac Island for their Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, courtesy of 9 & 10 news.

The town display looks like it's from Dept. 56. Good job on it, and I
also like the Christmas decorations and the Mackinac Island
Christmas Tree.

A labor of love...it's so nice to see people
trying to make the best of this holiday season. In
time, we'll be able to look back and say; "Man,
what a year."
