Sarah Eles and her family often find interesting places to explore here in the Keweenaw, from seeing posts on her friend’s Facebook pages, then they go check it out for themselves...even their cat, Poppy comes along, on a leash no less. That’s a pretty cool cat!
This day, they explored the Redwyn Dunes Nature Sanctuary and the George Hite Dunes & Marshes Preserve, located on M26, near Great Sand Bay. For directions, click on the preceding links for both sites. I had no clue these were here, either and it looks like a fun hike. Sarah said it’s a little over a mile. If Poppy can do it, so can I...adding this to my bucket list for next year now.
We join Lisa and Randy in the Keweenaw for a video look at the changing seasons of the Keweenaw/Lake Superior.

A favourite of ours is to hike this neat little area. Hardly ever see a person on those trails which makes it an even more enjoyable experience...

From the Redwyn Dunes website "No hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, campfires, or pets are permitted." I really hope Poppy doesn't get arrested!
