We have featured photos from Beth Jukuri’s view on her rural mail route here in the U.P., and she has mentioned to me a number of times how that is one of the things she loves about her job, the changing scenery through all the seasons. Today Beth shares some color in a patch of tulips she spotted this past week. I’d have to say that they are outstanding in their field.

Beth’s second photo gives us a look at one of my favorite flowers, the Forget-Me-Not. Such a dainty little blue flower and I love the splash of yellow from the dandelion, too! The dandelions seem plentiful in our field this year, which is a good thing for the bee population.

The third shot is a fun and unique one. Beth spotted this goat, just lounging on the roof of his shelter. The roof looks like tar paper, perhaps, but “Goat on a Hot Tin Roof” comes to mind for me with this picture. When I remarked to Beth that the flowers were beautiful and the goat on the roof was cool and unique, she said, “Yes, some days I am gifted with things that make me smile with delight”. I’m glad she shares them with us, as then we get that same reaction.

Maybe you’ve heard of it, maybe you haven’t. Today’s video gives us a look at “Goat Yoga”, one of the latest fitness crazes sweeping the country. Get ready to get your goat on!

Hi
I tried yoga once. Sorry to say, it felt like
torture...even without a goat on one's back.

I'm with Kathryn on the yoga thing. The
pictures of the flowers are beautiful. We just
can't get tulips to do much our here in
Minnesota. My granddaughter would live to have
a goat for a pet. They really are cute.

Colorful pics and as far as the Goat Yoga video goes; "Sheep up or sheep out". It's been ages since I had lamb chops.

Deb,

I used to live in Holland, MI. I'm still no Tulip expert even though I've marched in the Holland Tulip Festival parade, LOL.

I always thought that part of the problem with tulips planted too far north was that tulips come out sooner than many species and then the next hard frost does them in. After reading the article I just found, the problem is more complicated. I hope this helps you.

If you want tulips to return, here are some tips

Thanks, D.A.
