When a bigger boat of any kind is expected here in the Copper Country, you can bet that Marcy Bessolo Hermanson will be on hand to snap some photos and even make a short video, too. Marcy filled me in on this Tug and Barges: The Ann Marie, a 69 foot Tug was built in 1954 for the U.S. Air Force. She was sold and renamed a few times. She is kept busy hauling barges for the contracting trades around the Great Lakes, often working with dredge barges. Marcy said it was fun to catch her coming through the South Entry this day.
I couldn’t find anything about what the barges were being used for in the area, but it’s interesting there were three of them on this trip. Seems like the Ann Marie must have some good power to tow all that behind her. Marcy shared a short video of the vessel and barges as they passed by her heading into the canal out at South Entry - White City/Jacobsville.

I don't mean to barge in, but nice pix and video.

Nice Pic's & video, the third pic brings back a lot of memories walking and swimming at the Jacobsville lighthouse.

I love the lighthouse picture. We were there two summers ago and just spent time walking the beach and it brought back so many memories of jumping into the water on hot days. I love UP summers so much. There's nothing like sitting on the beaches of Lake Superior.
