Paul Roberts made kind of a mini tour of the eastern U.P. over the weekend. He took off from the Mackinac Bridge in the morning after snapping a shot from underneath the Big Mac and headed to the Tahquamenon Falls. After the hike in to check them out in the winter, he then headed over to Whitefish Point for a sunny winter day visit to the Lighthouse campus. From there, he headed back over the Bridge to Mackinaw City for supper. Kind of a whirlwind tour, but sure looked like a great day to do it.

While at the Tahquamenon Falls, Paul also managed to make a short video of the wintry falls running strong. I like the way he slowed the motion down. Gives you a better idea of the volume of water that’s running over the falls, even in the winter months.

Hey UC, are you on track for the new surgery date?

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 - 03:53 pm:

Fantastic Pic's & Video as usual!!

Hi Jbuck & All, No I'm not, Monday's meetings at the U revealed that my sugar levels over the last 60 Days are still just a bit too high. On 3/9 I meet with my Endocrinologist to discuss an aggressive plan to lower those levels just a bit more. Going thru with surgery at the higher levels increases the risks of postop infection and other complications. Since I am not in immediate danger, we have elected to get those levels lower before surgery. New target date will be late April or early May at this point, I will get confirmation next week. In the meantime, it's hard to go on this rollercoaster and staying psyched up for surgery! Monday's meeting will hope produce a new plan or meds to take to get my A1C down closer to 7, currently I'm at 8.4, all I can say is... it's a juggling act at best with insulin and not going too low and not spiking too high. I do the best I can, but it's not easy. Thanks for asking, I appreciate everyone's support, it means more than you know!! Thanks again!! :=))

Oh man, UC, that has to be stressful - which can't help the blood sugar levels! It isn't easy! But you're right, you want to have everything as good as it can get before the surgery. Just sorry it'll delay your return to the UP so long.

Maybe relax and watch a little hockey this weekend! Go Cats GO!!!
