Dawn Gunnari visited the Italian Hall Memorial site on Christmas Eve one week ago and shares these photos with us. I’m quoting her words that accompanied them: “As we remember…106 years of sorrow are linked to this small space of land in Calumet. Where 73 souls lost their lives on Christmas Eve, 1913 at the Italian Hall Christmas Party, mostly children. These lighted lanterns represent each of those lost that sad day.”
What a beautiful remembrance of those that perished that day, being kept alive this way each year, so many years later. RIP….
Today’s video from Mlive contains many photos from that fateful day.
With just this glance toward the past, looking ahead to a better future. Happy New Year from all of us at Pasty Central.

Happy New Year to you all! Each year certainly slips by faster than the preceding one . . . even with long winters!

George L. (Yooperinct): I once read that it seems shorter because at age 7, only 1/7th of your life passes in a year, but at age 70, 1/70th passes...a much shorter period.

Wow this is quite informative, you went down to the size, quality and their service. This would render a lot of people's future judgement on the place. I hope more on this sort of posts.
