Up and at ‘em early in the morning, just in time to capture a beauty of a sunrise recently. Dawn Gunnari said the glow didn’t last more than a few minutes, but long enough for her to get to the waterfront to capture these scenes. Her intro to the photos was poetic and worth sharing, too: “Fueling the fire, the newly formed ice on the Portage Canal can't extinguish the morning’s warm glow. I do wish it was as warm as it looks.” Today I’m thankful for folks like Dawn who capture and share scenes that the rest of us might never see, especially when the moment only lasts so long.
We’re taking a drive today, from Hancock, over the Lift Bridge, to Houghton, just about a year ago. Buckle up and enjoy the short guided tour.

Fantastic pic's Dawn!! I'm betting in the video that they are headed to the local Walmart or perhaps to "eatin good in the neighborhood" at the local Applebee's. :)
