Thanks to Melanie Hakala Rossi and friends, we get to see many places in the Keweenaw that are off the beaten path. These folks go on exploring adventures just about every weekend. They recently made their way to Fish Cove, which is between the Mouth of the Montreal River and the tip of the Keweenaw. You have to either get there by boat, hike in or ride an ORV/ATV in on the designated DNR trails. What a beautiful spot with the glorious rocky Lake Superior shoreline and crystal clear waters.

Melanie also shares with us today, a video illustrating just how wet the DNR trails are. She actually said they had a deeper hole to go through, that got them wet up to their waists, but no video of that one. Good thing, because the camera or phone may have gotten soaked, too. Hopefully the sunshine dried them off quickly!

Nice pics, been there by boat several times, and by 4x4 truck on the trails.

My pal Marty tried to cross the Beaver dam out there with his truck with Grandpa Norm in the front seat, good thing we had to vehicles, when the water was up to steering wheel height inside the truck, it was time to tow them both out backwards and that was in November! Good thing brother in law Charlie B was filming on the side, he was elected to strip down and tie up the tow strap!! Uncle Mike and I were in the bed of the truck and the only one's that didn't get wet!! We had my medical van back there following and parked before the Beaver Dam. Mike and I jump in the back of the truck and Charlie went across the dam filming, when he had to go back and bring my van right to the edge and hook up the strap, luckily it was long enough. It was an interesting tow ride back to Copper Harbor, I was towing Marty pretty fast!! The heat was on full blast trying to warm up dad, that was the only down part but he was a trooper and said it didn't bother him, but I know he had to be miserable! Great times and memories... I miss them and dad very much!!
